"Green Meadow"

Picture
Green Meadow
11"x9" Acrylic on Primed Cardboard Fixed To Handmade Stained Wooden Frame & Backing

Living out west I have had the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful fields when driving back to my home in Arizona. The large open grasslands are something a guy from New England is not used to because there were always trees everywhere.

I was inspired particularly by the middle of the United States for this composition. Some of the most beautiful and simple places I have been such as Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma. The land can stretch so far and wide you can see for miles until the grass simply meets the sky without anything in between. The wide open spaces is something I always longed for and whenever I travel through these areas I feel so free and thankful to be as expansive as I want with nothing but green grass and blue sky.

I used acrylic on primed cardboard and sealed it with a UV protective varnish. I wanted to re-use a material in order to remain sustainable in my creation with the thought of preserving this beautiful land such as you see in the painting. The frame and backing are handmade from wood and help to accentuate the natural beauty of the Green Meadow painting.
